reenactor.Net; the story of our Scarily High Server Bill

You might often wonder why sites ask for money. I mean most places offer a decent amount of space to host websites pretty reasonably. However, when you start getting a LOT of visitors, it begins to use up bandwidth at a prodigious amount. THIS is what costs. We have a great host for our site, but we get SO many visitors, that costs keep spiraling up. Sometimes we can sell ads, sometimes not. IF you DO see an ad here on reenactor.Net, know that it will be a history-targeted ad and not something for "Herbal viagra" or a new credit card. All ads on reenactor.Net MUST be something that our visitors are interested in. Enough ad talk.

I choose to keep reenactor.Net graphically interesting vs. just using text--costs more on the server bill, but it's neater. Not just a website, but a whole reenacting experience. Okay, maybe NOT Disneyland for reenactors, BUT... we try to have useful info for our visitors!

You might be wondering just how much traffic we are getting... they tell me ca. 11+ GIGABYTES a month... that really is a huge amount for a website. Something like at least 60,000 to 80,000 overall visitors a month.

If you, our kind visitor, would like to help reenactor.Net pay our suprisingly large server bill and keep going, please visit our donation page to help out.
Best, Marsh
